The Nomadic Nests ponder constructs and concepts of home, security, attachment, comfort, change, culture, migration and materialism. I invite all to rest and reflect on these notions by gently occupying the space.
This nest was made on my favorite local beach, Pantai Purnama (full moon beach) in Bali, Indoensia. It was my little slice of home, where I would go to feel connected to the magical place that is Bali. Ibu Gusti, the owner of a local warung (restaurant) would teach me Bahasa Bali (Balinese language) before I would venture off of my weekly walk along the shiny black sand (volcano dust). It was a great place to practice my bahasa when everyone would come out for the cool sunset hour.
